Tunisia intends to become a regional Hollywood

The Tunisian Investment Authority (TIA) and the Tunisian Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) have approved the filming of a major Saudi historical series at the Mediwood Studio in Hammamet. The Saudis are expected to allocate about $5 million for the production of the new film within three months.
In the future, the investment authorities intend to focus on a strategy that will not only enable the filming of individual movies in the country but also create conditions for the establishment of permanent representative offices of international film studios in Tunisia.
The creation of a regional center for the arts of cinema, a Tunisian Hollywood, in turn, will stimulate the development of a number of related industries, including logistics, construction, the hotel business, and technical services.
