Morocco to modernize its main airports

The African Development Bank Group and Morocco’s National Airports Office have signed an agreement to provide €270 million under the Airport Infrastructure Expansion and Modernization Program.
The investment will equip airports with state-of-the-art security systems, automated baggage handling systems, and digital solutions to ensure fast and comfortable passenger service.
By 2030, airport capacity is expected to reach 14 million passengers in Marrakech, 5 million in Agadir, 3.6 million in Tangier and 3 million in Fez, further strengthening Morocco’s position as a regional aviation hub.
Implementation of the program will enhance flight safety, create thousands of jobs, foster the development of tourism, trade, and logistics, and attract additional public and private investment to the aviation sector.
