DRC will produce jewelry

The Mining Fund for Future Generations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Swiss company ADEX Platform AG have signed an agreement to establish a joint company ADEX RDC S.A., in which the parties will own equal shares.
The new company will build an international jewelry cutting and manufacturing plant, a digital platform for direct sales in international markets, and develop technology transfer and local capacity building programs.
The suppliers of raw materials to the plant will be prospectors and Sacim, the main industrial producer in the country, which accounted for about 15% of national diamond production in 2025.
In 2025, about 8.1 million carats were mined in the DRC, with 85% of the production coming from artisanal mining. Since 2021, the country's production volumes have been declining due to the unfavorable situation on the global diamond market (reduced demand and competition from synthetic diamonds).
