Angola will make it easier for citizens to access financial services

The Angolan Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, announced the next stage in the implementation of the National Strategy for Expanding Access to Financial Services.
According to the new rules, mobile communication and digital payment service providers will now be able to offer loans, which will simplify citizens' access to funds.
The number of mobile and digital payments in Angola has increased dramatically since the beginning of the year. Thus, by the end of the first half of 2026, the growth was approximately 56% compared to the same period last year.
According to data for the 1st quarter of 2026, banking services in Angola are used by about 32% of the population (5.7 million citizens), by 2027 it is planned to increase this figure to 36% (8 million citizens).
